We are a German-Greek family who have made it their task to completely renovate the penthouse in recent years.
Because our Pappou (grandfather) was one of the first to build a house on the beach, at that time he was considered crazy, now Nea Vrasna is developing more and more into a great tourist area.
We wanted to preserve this heritage and are very proud of the appearance and breathtaking views of the new apartments.
Varvara Waterfalls are a beautiful natural wonder in Greece. The falls are surrounded by lush vegetation and offer stunning views of the surrounding area. There is also a small lake nearby where you can swim and refresh yourself. The walk to the waterfall is not too difficult, but it is advisable to wear comfortable shoes. It's a great place to spend a day in nature!
Redina Castle is situated on a hillside next to the Rihio River, at the western entrance to the Macedonian Temples.
The results of the excavations in the fortified Byzantine settlement of Mygdoniki Rentina show that the area was continuously inhabited from the Neolithic period to the first years of the Turkish occupation (14th century).
The last conqueror of the castle was Ioannis Vatatzis, who on his way to Thessaloniki captured the castle when the Franks left without defending it. The location of the castle was of particular strategic importance as it controlled the course of the Egnatia Road through the valley of the Richios River and the movement of goods and troops between Thessaloniki and Constantinople.
Along the old national road Thessaloniki-Asprovalta and before the junction to Stavros, one can walk about 200 m to visit the area where the castle is located.
The castle is not easy to spot due to the dense vegetation of the area, it is fenced in and access inside is strictly forbidden. But you can visit the area around the castle. The walk in this green forest is particularly pleasant and refreshing. The area is of particular ecological importance as it is a place of great biodiversity. The rich flora is home to a variety of life forms including various birds of prey and migratory birds. Also visit the small church of Agia Marina, which you can find on the main street.
The Archaeological Museum of Philippi is a fascinating site that houses a collection of artifacts from the ancient city of Philippi. Exhibits include coins, pottery, jewelry, and statues. The find from 1980, which revealed the remains of an old theater, is particularly impressive. The museum also offers guided tours that give a glimpse into life in the ancient city.
